Oktober 2010 wurde &#8222;Das Haus der Stille&#8220; auf dem Campus Westend er\u00f6ffnet. Damit wurde ein multireligi\u00f6ser Gebetsraum an der Siolistra\u00dfe hinter dem H\u00f6rsaalzentrum zur Meditation und Besinnung f\u00fcr Studierende, Mitarbeiter und Interessierte geschaffen. Zuvor gab es auf dem Universit\u00e4tsgel\u00e4nde keinen Ort f\u00fcr den interreligi\u00f6sen Austausch und das Gebet der Angeh\u00f6rigen unterschiedlicher Religionen.<\/p>\n<p>Bereits in einem fr\u00fchen Stadium der Planung bestand Einigkeit, dass das Haus keinerlei Elemente (etwa Bilder oder Skulpturen) enthalten soll. Grund daf\u00fcr war, dass religi\u00f6se Symbole bei Angeh\u00f6rigen anderer Konfessionen auf Ablehnung sto\u00dfen k\u00f6nnten. Die einzigen Einrichtungsgegenst\u00e4nde sind einige Hocker und Knieb\u00e4nke. Ansonsten herrscht inmitten der wei\u00df verputzten W\u00e4nden und dem mit hellbraunem Linoleum ausgelegten Fu\u00dfboden eine geradezu feierliche Leere. Utensilien zum Beten, Bilder, B\u00fccher oder \u00e4hnliches werden in einem separaten Raum gelagert. \u00dcber die Treppe zum Untergeschoss gelangt man zu den Sanit\u00e4rr\u00e4umen und den Fu\u00dfwaschbecken f\u00fcr die rituelle Waschung vor dem islamischen Gebet.<\/p>\n<p>Aufgrund des mit dem Haus der Stille angedachten Konzepts, einen Ort zur Besinnung und Meditation zu schaffen, steht das Haus nicht nur den Angeh\u00f6rigen der Konfessionen, sondern allen Nutzern des Campus, die einen ruhigen Ort f\u00fcr das Gebet oder f\u00fcr eine kleine Auszeit suchen, offen.<\/p>\n<p>Das &#8222;Haus der Stille&#8220; ist an Werktagen von 9 bis 18 Uhr zug\u00e4nglich. Der Tr\u00e4ger ist der Verein zur F\u00f6rderung des interreligi\u00f6sen Dialoges an der Goethe-Universit\u00e4t Frankfurt am Main. Im Schrank, der sich im Eingangsbereich befindet, befinden sich Gebetsteppiche der Muslime und weitere Gebetsutensilien.
