Das noch junge Forschungsgebiet untersucht und erstellt detaillierte Karten, die Verbindungen innerhalb eines Nervensystems in bislang ungekanntem Ausma\u00df und mit beispielloser Pra\u0308zision darstellen. Im Fokus steht dabei die Entwicklung von Rechenmodellen und Theorien, um die Messdaten beschreiben und erkl\u00e4ren zu k\u00f6nnen.
