Aufgrund der Coronama\u00dfnahmen erfolgt die Bekanntgabe und \u00dcbergabe erst jetzt. Zusammen mit Prof. Brandes wurden Prof. Dr. Dirk H. Busch (TU M\u00fcnchen) und Prof. Dr. Stefan Endres (LMU M\u00fcnchen) ausgezeichnet. Die Preistr\u00e4ger erhielten zusammen ein Preisgeld von 60.000 Euro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Der Robert Pfleger Forschungspreis geh\u00f6rt zu den h\u00f6chstdotierten Medizinpreisen in Deutschland und wird insbesondere f\u00fcr grundlegende Konzepte mit zukunftsweisenden Denkanst\u00f6\u00dfen auf allen Gebieten der Medizin (Grundlagenforschung und klinische Forschung zur Diagnostik, Therapie und Pr\u00e4vention von Krankheiten) verliehen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In seiner W\u00fcrdigung schreibt Prof. Dr. Helmut Sies, Mitglied des wissenschaftlichen Beirats der Dr. Pfleger Stiftung: \u201eHerrn Prof. med. Ralf P. Brandes wird f\u00fcr seine wegweisenden Beitr\u00e4ge zur Physiologie und Pathophysiologie der Gef\u00e4\u00dfe, insbesondere der Endothelzelle und der Steuerung der Gef\u00e4\u00dfneubildung der Robert Pfleger Forschungspreis 2020 verliehen. Die Thematik der kardiovaskul\u00e4ren Erkrankungen ist nach wie vor hochaktuell, und exzellente Grundlagenforschung ist ein Eckpfeiler f\u00fcr zuk\u00fcnftige diagnostische und therapeutische Ans\u00e4tze. Die wissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkte liegen in der Erforschung der vaskul\u00e4ren Signaltransduktion, mit besonderem Fokus auf dem vaskul\u00e4ren Endothel und der Rolle von Lipiden und reaktiven Sauerstoffspezies in der Kontrolle der Angiogenese, vaskul\u00e4ren Regeneration und vaskul\u00e4rer Umbauprozesse sowie in der Erforschung epigenetischer Mechanismen und bioinformatischer Fragestellungen.
