Der Mathematiker Prof. Bastian von Harrach hat in Seoul, Korea, den MediaV Young Researcher Award <\/a>erhalten. Der Forschungspreis wird von der MediaV Information Technology (Shanghai) Co Ltd. gestiftet und alle zwei Jahre an zwei Wissenschaftler unter 40 Jahren f\u00fcr herausragende Forschungsleistungen auf dem Gebiet der Inversen Probleme verliehen.
\nAuf der International Conference on Inverse Problems and Related Topics (ICIP) an der Ewha Womans University in Seoul, \u00fcberreichte Jiongwei Yang, CEO der MediaV Company, den Preis an Prof. von Harrach.<\/p>\n

„Der Preis ist eine besondere Auszeichnung f\u00fcr meine mathematische Arbeit an Inversen Problemen, auf denen z.B. neue medizinische Tomographiemethoden basieren“ freut sich Professor von Harrach. „Der asiatische Raum wird in der angewandten mathematischen Forschung immer wichtiger. Da freut es mich besonders, den Preis im s\u00fcdkoreanischen Seoul verliehen zu bekommen, wohin bereits intensive Forschungskontakte unserer Gruppe bestehen.“<\/p>\n

Bastian von Harrach promoviert 2006 an der Universit\u00e4t Mainz. Nach W2-Professuren in M\u00fcnchen und W\u00fcrzburg sowie der Leitung des Lehrstuhls f\u00fcr Optimierung und inverse Probleme an der Universit\u00e4t Stuttgart folgte er im Oktober 2015 dem Ruf auf eine W3-Professur f\u00fcr Numerik partieller Differentialgleichungen <\/a>an die Goethe-Universit\u00e4t.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
