This semester, Goethe University Frankfurt is launching a new program designed primarily with its international exchange students in mind, but also explicitly open to regular university students. The Goethe Study Experience Program \u2013 GstEP for short \u2013 consists of two pre-packaged bundles of English-language academic classes and is designed for students with no prior knowledge of the relevant academic field. It currently comprises two special English-language introductory courses on topics unique to Frankfurt and its citizens\u2019 university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the first study track \u2013 Critical Theory Past and Present: The \u201cFrankfurt School\u201d and its legacy \u2013focuses on Goethe University\u2019s Institute for Social Research and the critical social scientific approach associated with Max Horkheimer and Theodor W. Adorno, the second \u2013 A European Banking Hub: Financial and Economic Policies in the EU \u2013 highlights Frankfurt\u2019s unique role as a European financial hub. The introductory lectures into critical theory will take place between September 16 and October 8, while the finance and economics series will run from September 9 to 25. More details on the application process, requirements as well as the quickly approaching deadlines are available on the program\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interested regular Goethe University students are welcome to join the pre-semester introductory classes, which will be filled on a first come, first served basis. \u201cIn addition to offering them a great opportunity to study Frankfurt-related topics in English, they also have a unique opportunity to study together with exchange students from our global partner universities,\u201d says Dr. Johannes M\u00fcller, head of the Global Office and GStEP\u2019s main initiator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To sign up for one of the new study tracks, regular Goethe University students should contact the Global office: gstep@uni-frankfurt.de<\/a>. The deadline for applications is September 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
