For 2019–2020, the JQ Young Academy – an interdisciplinary academy at the Goethe University – defined a new research theme to address current issues in sciences, arts, and humanities: Tenets, Variations, Transformations.
As basic principles, TENETS guide the practice of scientists across disciplines, social and political life in our societies. Such principles are, however, subject to important VARIATIONS. Any TRANSFORMATIVE changes over time challenge the fundamental nature of tenets and can result in a conceptual re-thinking.
