7,300 and counting – that’s how many Deutschlandstipendium scholarships have been awarded since 2011!

The Deutschlandstipendium supports students who demonstrate strong academic performance and social engagement; they receive €300 per month for a maximum of two years. Following a matching principle, every euro a university raises for its students is matched by the federal government. Some 600 Goethe University students receive this support during the 2024/25 funding year – 50 more than in 2023 – with the proportion of international students and students with a migration background again exceeding 30%. Since 2011, more than 7,300 students have been supported with a Deutschlandstipendium.

In addition to the monthly financial stipend of €300, the scholarship also offers a non-material support program, a strong network, and a wide range of events. As part of the so-called “Young Leadership Program,” scholarship recipients can develop both personally and professionally, including through individual support within project teams as well as study-related programs and offerings – such as seminars, workshops, best-practice talks, and networking.

Since many scholarship recipients want to stay in touch even after the scholarship ends and continue nurturing their network, they are currently working on establishing an alumni group for all Deutschlandstipendium holders at Goethe University.

Showcase your strengths, get involved, reduce financial stress: Applications for the next Deutschlandstipendium can be handed in until July 28, 2025! Further information and link to the application portal →
