On Saturday, 2 July 2022, after a two year pause due to the corona pandemic, all international researchers and scholars at Goethe University had been invited by Goethe Welcome Centre and the foundation “Stiftung zur Förderung der internationalen wissenschaftlichen Beziehungen” to GU’s annual Summer Garden Party hosted in garden of GU’s guesthouse in Frauenlobstraße. More than 70 researchers from 17 different countries celebrated the end of the academic year 2021/2022.
After brief words of welcome by Vice President Prof. Christiane Thompson, the chairman of the foundation Prof. Jürgen Bereiter-Hahn and the head of GWC Florian von Bothmer, participants thoroughly enjoyed a wide range of delicious national dishes of the traditional pot luck buffet, prepared by the researchers. The evening was accompanied by live music from the “Walter Bareither Special Jazz Quartet” with a great variety of Latin Jazz songs and melodies.
The aims of this event are to honour GU’s international researchers, bring together GU’s international community and thereby to foster a deeper sense of belonging to their new alma mater.
