Ein Jahr nach Beginn des internationalen Forschungsprojekts LFSM4Life, das die Heilung von Diabetes Typ 1 zum Ziel hat, veröffentlicht die Projektleitung Zwischenergebnisse in einem Newsletter. Darin ist auch ein Interview mit zwei Doktoranden von LFSM4Life aus der Arbeitsgruppe von Prof. Ernst Stelzer vom Buchmann-Institut für Molekulare Lebenswissenschaften an der Goethe-Uni zu lesen.
Lotta Hof und Till Moreth geben Einblicke in den Laboralltag, erzählen, wie sie zu dem Projekt kamen und was ihnen daran gefällt.
„For me the most important point of this project is the overall goal to develop a personalized and new approach to treat Diabetes 1. With the recently developed pancreatic organoid model I think the chances to make a huge step forward is done. To take part in this project and to investigate these organoids is fascinating and challenging in the same way. This opportunity combines perfectly my interests in cell biology, microscopy and also has the perspective of a clinical application and potentially help people in the future“, sagt Till Moreth.
