Feelin‘ groovy: Goethe University Frankfurt’s Summer Festival on Westend Campus

A heavy shower early on Thursday afternoon briefly disrupted preparations for Goethe University’s summer festival, but it was soon followed by dry, sunny and warm weather. The summer festival at the end of June once again offered visitors from near and far a huge choice of entertainment, new things to try and ample opportunity just to hang out and chat: music and dance both on the stage and in front of it, relaxing on the grass, plus innumerable stands and artistic sporting activities. This year’s program ranged from the academic gliding club to boules and basketball, from Korean folk painting to creative painting with Museum Giersch, all the way to the Brazilian partner dance called Zouk. As usual, the “Spielmobil” provided all kinds of fun and games for young and old, and visitors could choose from a diverse range of culinary delights on the campus square. The Frankfurt DJ duo Buttmoney rounded off this year’s summer festival with a wide variety of sounds from different cultures for party-goers to dance to until midnight.
