The courses focus on:

  • physical activity
  • social connection
  • fostering a healthy study experience at Goethe University Frankfurt

A team that is firmly committed to inclusion and integration ensures that everyone feels welcome. At the same time, participation should not depend on financial means, and affordable rates are available to Goethe University students.

In addition to traditional courses such as football, basketball, and artistic gymnastics, the program also features more unusual sports, including dragon boat racing, stick fighting, and pole dance. The portfolio is further complemented by workshops, excursions, and special events.

The Summer Challenge – a multisport tournament held at Westend Campus – will take place on June 24, 2026. It will be followed two months later, on August 26,2026, by the annual Goethe Run for students and staff of the Rhine-Main Universities, with a route connecting Goethe University’s Ginnheim and Westend Campuses.

Health and Community Initiatives

University Sports takes a broad view of health and also critically reflects on related issues, including in the context of the planned online-conference “Healthy at Any Cost?!” on September 14, 2026.
